Barcelona feels so long ago now but it was only two months ago. I’d go again tomorrow if I could. I have uploaded here a bunch of photos for you of my trip. Highlights included Gaudi’s work, a trip to Ferran Adrià’s chocolate shop, Cacao Sampaka, (he of El Bulli fame) and some super brilliant tapas. I also wanted to move to Barcelona just to go shopping at Mercat de la Boqueria everyday, the colours and the smells were amazing. It did rain quite a lot so the photos are a little grey.
I stayed at Hotel SixtyTwo on the Pasages de Gracias. I would really recommend it. The rooms were beautiful, really nice thick cotton and bedding, a big bathroom with a lovely bath and a plethora of bath products to steal! All the staff I met were so kind and helpful, and not remotely judging when I tripped over the front step for the fourth time. Breakfast was a lovely buffet set out with all kinds of meats, cheese and breads and you could then order hot things from the kitchen too. Even the lift smelled amazing. It wasn’t terribly inexpensive but it was much nicer than staying down by the harbour and it was a real feeling of luxury, especially when hiding from the rain.
I flew with Ryanair from Liverpool John Lennon. Someone has to.
I have posts written up to share with you about the things I ate and the things I saw but any more photos and the whole of the internet would break down in tears! I also have news of three new restaurants in Liverpool and several delicious salads and a hot blueberry and chocolate bun for you. I know, it’s promising to be good.
